“Get paid to take this survey!” Most people would see this statement and automatically think it is a scam, and in many instances it is. However, not all paid survey companies are total lies. I have tried out multiple websites and apps that claim to pay users for their involvement to find out which are legit and which are a waste of time. Keep reading to find out how you can generate free money by providing your opinion and data!
Free Money? It sounds too good to be true! It is important to know that working with companies like Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars are not a way to make a great deal of money quickly. This is not a get rich quick scheme. Taking online surveys is a way to make a few extra dollars during your free time. Look at it as a way to be a little bit more productive during your downtime at work, while watching TV, getting your hair done, ect. Overtime the surveys you have completed will add up and eventually you will have enough money in your account to transfer into your own bank account.
Why would these companies pay you just to take a survey? Larger companies rely on these survey companies to gather information for them. By providing your honest opinion and data analytics, growing companies are able to use the information you have provided to create new products, strategies, and make decisions that will positively influence their consumers.
Below I will go more in depth about two companies that I have proven to pay for providing your time and participation – Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars. I will discuss strategies for each website and how to make the best use of your time and earning potential.
Survey Junkie is one of the top two paying online survey companies at the moment. This is in large part to having the best payout to time spent ratio. With that in mind, finding the right surveys to take is important because the site has hundreds to choose from. The key to this is looking for the highest payouts with the least amount of estimated time to complete the survey. The best ones will points totaling 5x more than the amount of time – a 5:1 ratio.
For example, if a survey is estimated to take 10 minutes – the points received for completing it should 50 or more. Check and often and frequently so you don’t miss the high paying opportunities. From my experience, the surveys with the best ratios generally become available in the late afternoon/evening. This could be because the site gets the most traffic during these hours.
In order to cash out money from your Survey Junkie account you must earned a minimum balance on $10. Once you are eligible, you can transfer your funds via Paypal, gift card, a check, or a direct bank deposit. Inbox Dollars
Inbox Dollars is the second legitimate paid survey company I have used. If you like the idea of getting paid during your free time, but completing surveys does not interest you, then Inbox Dollars may be an option for you. Not only does Inbox Dollars offer paid surveys, but you can also play games and watch videos to generate money.
When choosing surveys to complete on Inbox Dollars choose the ones that are .25 cents for 10 minutes or .50 cents for 20 minutes – Those will be the highest paying for the least amount of time spent. Most surveys on Inbox Dollars will have a few background questions before the real survey. These questions serve as qualifying questions to see whether or not the survey is pertinent to you and if you are eligible to take it.
Similar to Survey Junkie, Inbox Dollars has a minimum balance that needs to be reached before you are able to transfer money from the website into your account. The minimum amount for Inbox Dollars is $30. Earning $30 on Inbox Dollar does take some time, but the option to play games or watch videos is a nice alternative to an entirely survey based website.

Are online surveys right for you? I’ve shown you that Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars are legitimate paying websites and given you the lowdown on how they work, but it is up to you to decide if earning extra money through online surveys is right for you. As I said above, it is by no means a quick way to earn a considerable amount of cash. If you actively spend time on both of these websites for a couple of hours a week you should be able to earn an extra $100+ a month. As you begin to earn the minimum account balance and transfer money into your bank account Survey Junkie and Inbox Dollars will recognize your efforts and include more of the higher paying and shorter surveys into your survey feed. The more active you are the higher earnings you will receive.
